Well, what can I say?
I’m a 27 year old Asian-American. I’ve lived in the US almost my entire but have always traveled around. My mother was a doctor growing up and my father was retired since I came into their lives. I recall numerous trips to Europe- whether it be in London, Manchester (where my God parents live), Bath or Wiltshire (where Stonehenge is, by the way!)
We also would frequently travel to Clearwater, Florida and sometimes Orlando or other areas down south. As a teenager, I lived in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine, Utah, Missouri, Montana and then moved back to Massachusetts when I was 18 to start college. At 19, I moved to Maryland and have been there ever since.
I often get asked my favorite place and to be honest- I don’t have one. The more you move and settle, the more you stop looking for what you like in a place and the more you look for what you like about the people in the place, or at least that’s what I’ve found. In 2017, I finally moved to Maryland (Potomac, more specifically) and bought my house in 2021. As much as I like to explore other places, I have found peace in creating roots in one place. I think I plan to stay, with the notion that traveling and exploring is always an option.
So- the big question- where ELSE have I gone?
Well, I was born in Liu Zhou, China (Guangxi Providence) in ’98 and I haven’t gone back yet but I do want to.
I visited Jerusalem, Israel when I was a child, probably around 4-10 to visit my grandparents, who have since passed, unfortunately. I went to Canada during my time at summer camp and Bermuda was my first cruise location!
Past that, I haven’t been to other places out of the States (besides the ones mentioned above), but I did visit New Orleans, Louisiana as a teenager, North/South Carolina for the beaches, Delaware (Bethany Beach) and Stowe, Vermont for an old car show.
