Hello ladies!! (And men, I suppose it’s okay if you’re here too 😉 ) Just kidding! But did you know March 8th was National Women’s Day? I (as a woman lol) actually didn’t until I walked past Te Amo Lviv, the cutest bakery in town.
Inside, it’s cute, and not too busy like in America- but rather quaint and calming. As much as I like some of the bakeries in America- with the large choices, I’m beginning to fall in love with the quiet-morning vibe in Europe. I don’t know how to explain it but it doesn’t feel like I’m rushing to drink my coffee, but rather, I’m sitting and enjoying the coffee, watching people walk by and enjoying the quiet chatter.

I actually wasn’t planning on coming here at all, but I was sightseeing on this day and I wanted to get some food and passed by this sign.
It’s not common to see English signs in Lviv- yes, many people do speak English here, but typically the signs are written in Ukrainian or Ukrainian and English.
The fact that I could read it drew me in! Still A1 Ukrainian, yes I’m working on it! No I’m not fluent yet- and if you are reading this as a native Ukrainian speaker- what is with all your cases!?
The place looked a lot smaller on the outside than it actually was. I walked in and the barista was very sweet. She told me that she didn’t speak very good English and that’s okay because I don’t speak very good Ukrainian, so we struggled together LOL.
I got a hot chocolate with cat paws (marshmallows) in it. I often hear of the Lviv hot chocolate, the thick, indulgent, and intense drink crafted from melted, high-quality chocolate. This was not that, it was yummy for sure but it wasn’t something that was thick or needed a spoon. I also got a quiche- I know, very un-Ukrainian of me, but I wanted something light and I was going out later for Varenyky and Deruny! The lady also gave me a little marshmallow flower (which was the gift from the sign, I assume)

It’s a shorter post this time, as I don’t have a lot of knowledge on the history of this cafe or how it came to be. But I still wanted to make a post even if it was short. The atmosphere was lovely and I do recommend this place to people traveling that want a quick coffee recharge. There are many coffee stations in the city, but this is a lovely place to have a sit down.
It had a bit of a European coastal vibe of sorts and they are definitely cat lovers as there are multiple cat-inspired drinks here! Unfortunately no actual cats that I saw, but if you wanted to visit a cat cafe in Lviv, be sure to check out my other post here.
