I don’t know why there are more Asian all you can eat restaurants in the MOCO area, but when searching AYCE, it’s almost all Asian. Whether Japanese Sushi, Korean BBQ, etc., it mostly is Asian-orientated. No complaints from me though!

Uzu Revolving Sushi is the second AYCE sushi place I’ve been to, but the first revolving sushi location I had gone to. I have seen some in malls, but never been. I honestly loved Uzu from the atmosphere, the selection, prices and the robots were pretty neat as well!

Parking can be tricky, so that was probably my biggest con. There is parking in the front, but considering the number of places that are here, really not enough parking. There is parking in the back (where I parked) which isn’t too far away, but also not as convenient as parking right out front. Gotta pick your battles, huh?

When you get inside, there is a small decorated doorway entrance.

To your immediate left, is the main restaurant. There are both tables and bar seats. You check in using a digital screen on your left and it will give you a wait time. We had to wait quite a while- I think it was about 30 minutes or so, albeit we also came on a Saturday, during lunch time. So perhaps more of our fault (LOL!)

Even in the wait though, it’s a pleasant atmosphere to be. The giant koi fish hanging above you, watching the robots deliver food, the revolving sushi in their little plastic bubbles…

Tiers:

Once we got sat, we were lead to a table in the middle of the restaurant and were able to pick our tier; Uzu has 3 tiers for the AYCE menu. Each tier included certain dishes.

Genin is the first tier at $35 and includes any plates from $3.99-4.99.

Chunin is the second tier at $45 and includes any plates from $3.99-6.99.

Lastly, Jonin is the last tier at $65 and includes any plates from $3.99-8.99.

The different tiers have different plates associated with them, so it’s easy to follow along and know which one is which. We chose the Chunin because the price was reasonable and we did get a good variety. Genin felt, to us, limited in variety which is why we didn’t choose it.

Once you choose your tier, your waiter will place a little sign so that you know which plates you can get and which you can’t.

Ordering can be done in several ways. Mainly, you will use the tablet provided to pick what you want. It should be noted that sushi is NOT the only thing you can get! You can get:

Soup

Seaweed Salad

Tempura

Crab

Sashimi

Oysters

And more!

The other way to get food, would be to pick up the sushi on the conveyer belt that goes along the tables. You do have to grab the plate and lift up to get the plates out, and you can’t put it back in once you grabbed it (thankfully!)

When you order from the tablet, the sushi will either be delivered by one of the bullet train delivery robots that ride on top of the conveyer belt- or through one of the floor robots which do speak to let you know that they want you to take the food away. The funny part about these robots is when someone/something is blocking their path, a sad face is displayed on the screen and it will say that something is blocking its path and to please move (it). Generally soups or other types of food will be delivered through the floor robots.

Now, we got a pretty large selection of food and we were all stuffed by the end of it. Some of the items on the bullet train do take longer to arrive, and there were several times we were dreading the bullet train stopping for us- possibly for something we ordered and forgot about.

A couple things to note for AYCE:

Any plates outside of your tier are charged as a la carte.

Any leftover food is also charged.

You must finish in 90 minutes.

And as for the actual food, I thought it was delicious! The plating was spectacular and the quality was fresh. For AYCE, it has such a broad variety of different foods and dishes and would recommend this to anyone. The price was reasonable, especially given the broad amount of things that you could have. I also appreciated the smaller portions because we would have more room for different dishes. Another local AYCE restaurant place is Kabuto in Rockville, and while I do love this place as well- they have full size rolls, filling you up faster, with less room to try more things. But, like Uzu- it does offer for more than just sushi and has a pretty diverse array of items for a low price!

Do I recommend Uzu Revolving Sushi?

Absolutely! I thought it was such a cute place to go with a huge variety, yummy food and a really good price for what you got! The robots were a nice touch and service was flawless! I would definitely go again and already have recommended Uzu to friends!
